Faith in Action National Spokesperson
From May 2003 until June 2008, legendary singer and actress Della Reese was the national spokesperson for Faith in Action, appearing at public events and in the media telling the story of Faith in Action and urging people to get involved. Although no longer the official spokesperson, Della continues to be an avid supporter of Faith in Action. Known as a pop and gospel singer for years, Della Reese put her stamp on American culture with her role on the television series Touched by an Angel, for which she received an NAACP Image Award six times. When the series came to an end, Della and Faith in Action found each other. She has strongly supported Faith in Action, attending national and regional conferences and appearing in a highly successful public service television, radio and print campaign. When Della speaks to groups on behalf of Faith in Action, she reminds them, "We can all become angels on earth by doing the little things that make a big difference."
As she has said many times, "Most people want to help, so they ask themselves, 'What can one person do? ' Faith in Action gives people an answer to that question."
